Our ministries.

  • Parish Porch Lunch.

    Mondays & Wednesdays @ 11am

One of our outreach programs to our siblings experiencing homelessness, we partner with other local organizations to serve lunch from our Parish House Porch. We take a Sabbath each year during August, so no lunches are served for the month.

  • Ecumenical Bible Study.

    Thursdays @ 11am

Each week, we meet for lunch and Bible study. For those unable to attend in person, we provide a teleconference number.

  • Seasonal Services.

    Wednesdays @ 6pm

In the seasons of Advent and Lent we gather for Soup and Study or brief worship services. This discipline aids us in observing these holy seasons.

  • Thanksgiving Baskets.

    Saturday Before Thanksgiving

Each Thanksgiving, we partner with other congregations to fill and distribute baskets that include turkey, all the fixin’s, and other groceries. We are blessed to provide over 50 families with milk, eggs, and dry goods in addition to turkey.

  • Christmas Angel Tree.

    Third Saturday of December

One of our favorite events of the year, we gather Christmas gifts for 100 children in our neighborhood. The Saturday before Christmas, families are invited to the church for cookies, games, and visits with Santa.

  • Room in the Inn-Memphis

    November - March

Collaborating with other churches and service groups, we provide holy hospitality in the form of a hot meal, a warm place to sleep, and a shower. Do you have a small group wanting to serve neighbors experiencing homelessness? Contact us about using our building to host Room in the Inn.

  • Spirituals Come Alive

    Fourth Sunday of February

For over 25 years, we have hosted the annual Spirituals Come Alive! event. A celebration in song, poetry, dance, and history artists from across the city share their talents as we celebrate Black History Month by hearing the history of our Spirituals. An offering is received and all proceeds are donated to support LeMoyne-Owen College.

  • Worship.

    Sundays @ 10am

We gather to worship in the traditional Lutheran style. All of our liturgy is printed in a bulletin to make following along for visitors more accessible. We celebrate Holy Communion weekly and provide a Zoom option for attendance.
